Pittsburgh Hornets Midget Major Team splits with Buffalo Saints

This past weekend the Pittsburgh Hornets Midget Major Hockey Team split a pair of games with the Buffalo Saints as they rebounded from a 5-2 loss on Saturday to post a 2-1 win on Sunday against this scrappy opponent from Buffalo. Joe Ford and Jim Recupero tallied in the first game as the Hornets took a while to get their overall game untracked. Rebounding ferociously on Sunday, Jake Michel notched the first tally as the Buffalo Saints continued to battle throughout the contest, a contest that was not settled until there were 2 minutes left in the game as Jake Dellavalle scored and electrifying short-handed goal at that time to seal away this impressive victory for the Pittsburgh Hornet Midget Majors.

The challenges continue next week as the Pittsburgh Hornets Midget Major hockey team competes in the prestigious 2006 Marquette Electricians Fall Classic in Wisconsin. Good luck Hornets and lets bring home the trophy!
