The Pittsburgh Hornets advanced to the Semi-Finals of the prestigious Drummondville Tournament with a 7-2 win over the Toronto Red Wings Saturday morning.

In college action last night, Hornet players figured in the scoring for their respective teams. Bernie Chmiel had an assist as Sacred Heart defeated Mercyhurst 4-1, John Zeiler had an assist in a losing cause as St. Lawrence lost to Clarkson 3-2, Dylan Reese registered an assist as Harvard defeated Rensselaer 3-1, and Grant Lewis had an assist, as Dartmouth defeated Union 5-1.
In the USHL, Chris Clackson had two goals for Chicago v. Sioux City, who was led by the 2nd star of the game Chris Minella. Minella, the Team Captain had two assists.
In the NAHL, Mahoning Valley dusted Traverse City 6-2 aided by a Matt Quigley goal.
In the EJHL, Mark Persic of the Boston Harbor Wolves has returned from shoulder surgery with 6 goals and 2 assists in 16 games.

The Pittsburgh Hornets begin play today in the prestigious Drummondville International Midget Hockey Tournament (le tournoi de drummondville) in Drummondville, Quebec. The competition will be fast and furious as the Pittsburgh Hornets compete in the preliminary rounds against Seminarie St-Francois at 5 pm January 25, the Cape Breton Tradesman at 3:45 on January 26, and the Toronto Red Wings at 3:15 on January 27. The Hornets have been attending for many years this wonderful tournament featuring some of the best competition in North America.
