Hetland accepts Division 1 offer from CCHA powerhouse Miami

The Pittsburgh Hornets are pleased to announce that Dane Hetland (5'11" 190) has accepted a scholarship from the Miami University Redhawks. Hetland, who currently is one of the leaders of the Baystate Breakers of the EJHL, will begin classes in the fall of 2006. Miami is currently ranked 2nd in the nation in the most recent NCAA polls with a 20 wins-4 losses- 5 ties heading into this past weekends action.

Through 38 games with Baystate, Dane has 19 Goals, 22 Assists, for a total of 41 points. As evidence of his clutch play, Dane also has 4 game winning Goals. Dane, a 1987 birth year, is the son of Rich and Christine and grew up in Bridgeville, Pa.

Miami is a member of the CCHA and competes against the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Michigan State. Dane will not only be competing at the highest level of college hockey but will also be attending one of the finest public universities in the nation.
