Hornets split with Team Illinois (49 wins, 4 losses, 1 tie before the weekend)

The Pittsburgh Hornets ended the weekend with a split with highly ranked Team Illinois. TI entered the weekend with a record of 49 wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie. The Hornets, behind goals by Eric Windmueller, Matt Celin(unassisted) and Ron Cramer, and outstanding goaltending by Rob Madore, handed Team Illinois it's 5 loss of the season 3-2. The Hornets then lost Sunday’s contest 6-2, in giving up a pair of empty-net goals late in the game.

Gerry Raymond scored both Hornets goals on Sunday, and Pat Gaul had four assists during the weekend.

Chris Cerutti, who received 40 plus stiches in a game last month, also made a return to the Hornets’ lineup.
