FLASH ALERT - Pittsburgh Hornets smother Predators 2-0 !

The Pittsburgh Hornets came out flying and smothered the Predators 2-0 this evening in winning this first game in the Western Pennsylvania District Playoffs. The Pittsburgh Hornets played their well coached, hard-hitting, fast skating style of play which has become the true trademark of Pittsburgh Hornet Hockey. The Pittsburgh Hornets lead most of the way on 2nd period power play goals scored by Furman South and Chris Cerrutti and the powerful Hornet team seemed to have the ice tilted toward their opponents throughout most of the game. The Pittsburgh Hornets outshot their opponent by a 35 -22 margin, the Hornet defenseman were inpenetrable, and Rob Madore exhibited his cat-like quickness and tough mental demeanor to shine again in goal. Way to go Hornets and best of luck for the remainder of the playoffs !!!

Take a look a the blog again for an update. From what we heard, thought the score was close, the Hornets pretty much dominated throughout the contest. Give credit though to Ostergarrd, their goalie, he was outstanding and kept them in the game.
