Shattuck St. Mary's Prep slips by the Hornets

Defending USA Hockey National Champion Shattuck St. Mary's needs empty net goal to secure win over the Hornets 6-4. The Hornets were paced by goals from Brian Mc Ginty, Jake Machel, and Ron Cramer (2). Shattuck, whose teams have included numerous future NHL's including Penguin phenom Sidney Crosby, have an international reputation which along with the Hornets attracted scouts from the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. Also in attendance were Boston College, UNH, Notre Dame, Maine, Yale, and UMASS-Lowell from the NCAA. Chicago and Tri-cities lead the USHL contingent along with Texas of the NAHL. Several EJHL teams were also sent representatives.

The Hornets battle the Dallas Stars at 1:30 today at the Whittemore Center, the beautiful 6700 seat home of the University of New Hampshire Wildcats.
