Battle of the Hornet Alumni Goaltenders !

Tomorrow night, October 28, 2005, the Flying Dutchman of Union College will be hosting the Bentley Falcons, two of the up and coming Division 1 hockey teams in the country. Depending upon the coaching moves, this could turn out to be the Battle of the Hornet Alumni Goaltenders with Senior goaltender Kris Mayotte of Union facing Freshman goaltender Jason Kearney of Bentley. Kris has had an outstanding career with the Dutchman and among other things was selected to the ECACHL All-Rookie Team following the 2002-03 season and Jason, the NAHL MVP last year, is looking to follow Kris’s footsteps in that regard as well. Former Hornets forward Matt Schwartz is also with the Falcons and will be called upon to try and lead the Falcons to victory. Both Kris and Jason are two really great kids that worked hard and deserve every opportunity and recognition in hockey they are now receiving. Congratulations to both Kris Mayotte and Jason Kearney on your outstanding careers and demonstrating once again why the Pittsburgh Hornets (‘The Goaltending Factory”) have a reputation for consistently producing year after year some the top amateur and college goaltenders in the country.
