Kris Mayotte, Pittsburgh Hornets Alumni, signs pro contract with Colorado Avalanche

Former Pittsburgh Hornets and Union goalie Kris Mayotte signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Avalanche, the team announced Monday. The Avalanche will be sending several players to the AHL's Albany River Rats, whose primary NHL affiliate is the Carolina Hurricanes.

Kris was one of the best goalies in the history of Union College, current home to former Pittsburgh Hornets Goalie Shaun Williams for the upcoming year as well. Kris is a great kid, a fantastic athlete and goaltender and is sure to represent both the Dutchmen and the Pittsburgh Hornets well in his professional career.
