News Flash – The Pittsburgh Hornets are beaming with great pride upon learning that former Pittsburgh Hornet Jason Zivkovic has been selected for induction into the Penn State University Icers Hockey Hall of Fame. Jason, a strong and mobile defenseman, patrolled the blue line from 1995 through 1999 for legendary Coach Joe Battista’s Icers and Jason remains to this day the all time leading point scorer among PSU defenseman with a total of 205 points. Jason was also the recognized leader and major contributor to PSU’s national championship team in 1998 and one of the first players to come out of our travel program in the early 1990’s. Congratulations Jason on this great achievement, we are all so very proud of you and thanks again for carrying the Pittsburgh Hornet banner to such great success in your collegiate career.

Our congratulations also go out to Coach Joe Battista on recently achieving his 500th win. Joe was one of the main catalysts in the development of ACHA hockey nationwide and in our opinion runs perhaps the best ACHA hockey program in this country, providing an unbelievable opportunity for athletes to play high level hockey and get a great education at a top university. A tip of the hat to Joe for doing it the right way also and getting his 500th win and again our congratulations to Jason Zivkovic for his great accomplishment as well! Go Hornets and Icers!!
